William and Kate's official residence of Kensington Palace is truly a dream.
The couple, who have been married for ten years, reside in Apartment 1A at the palace with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, writes The Mirror.
Their home is so grand that it boasts 20 rooms, including five reception rooms, three master bedrooms and two nurseries.
But Hello! has reported that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge go against the norm when it comes to the location of some of their bedrooms.
The pair have decided to change the layout of their home and sleep downstairs as the two master bedrooms are on the ground floor and it is believed the upper floors are used by their staff.
The royal family's private sleeping quarters are usually off-limits and Kate and William have only shared small glimpses of Kensington Palace in the past.
However, Kate and William did once reveal that they have Ikea furniture in their home during a visit to Sweden's national museum of architecture and design in Stockholm in 2018.
Marcus Engman, the company's head of design, said they told him that they had some Ikea furniture for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
"I'm proud that we can suit everybody," he said. "That's what we want Ikea to be - for the many people of the world, both royalty and ordinary people."
However, the Cambridges aren't the only royals to live at the palace, Prince Richard, the Queen's cousin and his wife and the Prince and Princess of Kent also call it home.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also used to live there, in Nottingham Cottage, before moving to Windsor, and then Canada and LA.
While parts of Kensington Palace are open to the public, the family's private living area isn't - and they are given complete privacy there.
Speaking about the Cambridge family home on True Royalty's Royal Beat, royal author Christopher Warwick said: "It has 20 rooms from the basement to the attic, it is not a small house.
"All of these royal residences at Kensington Palace are called apartments, which of course makes people immediately think they are flats like the American term for an apartment.
"They are not. If you think of Kensington Place in a way it is built around three courtyards. If you kind of think of them as being these wonderful red brick terrace houses. Because they are all joined, but separate houses."
