Prince William and Kate Middleton confirm exciting overseas tour next month for Queen’s Jubilee

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set embark on their first joint tour overseas next month for the first time since the pandemic.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be heading to the Caribbean as part of a seven day trip to help celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.

On March 19 the royals will fly to Belize and then Jamacia before finishing up on March 26 in The Bahamas.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the exciting plans, which will include William and Kate visiting the historic Mayan sites.

The couple will celebrate the rich culture of the Garifuna community in Belize, as well as explore the country’s biodiversity.

Kensington Palace said when in Jamacia they will engage with the Jamaican Defence Force and celebrate the legacy of Bob Marley and other ground-breaking Jamaican musicians alongside potential stars of the future.

In the Bahamas, the Cambridges will visit a number of islands and experience a world-famous junkanoo parade, according to Mirror Online.

The pair has asked to meet as many local people as possible, the palace said.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman added: “Their Royal Highnesses are very much looking forward to the visit, which will be their first joint official overseas tour since the onset of covid-19 in 2020.”

It had been previously reported that the Cambridges would be heading to the Caribbean this spring.

It was previously reported that representatives for William and Kate were seen on Belize’s paradise island of Ambergris Caye last month.

And not only is it their first tour of the Caribbean, it is also their first overseas tour together since the covid-19 pandemic hit in early 2020.

However, they have both undertaken solo trips abroad since as William went to the United Arab Emirates earlier this month, while Kate was in Denmark this week.

However, they aren’t the only royals that will be packing their bags and heading overseas in the coming weeks.

At the end of next month - March 23 to March 25 - Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will visit the Republic of Ireland.

While in April, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie Wessex will also be heading to the Caribbean.

They will take in Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines from April 22 to 28.

Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, is also heading overseas and will visit Papua New Guinea from April 11 to 13.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the UK will be celebrated over a bumper four-day bank holiday weekend in June.

Celebrations will include the 95-year-old monarch opening her private estates to the public and some of the world’s biggest stars performing outside Buckingham Palace.
