Prince William and Harry to 'arrange chat' over interview claims after year of silence

Prince William has revealed he will speak to Prince Harry about the claims made in his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke of Cambridge, 38, insisted that the royal family is "very much not racist" when asked about the explosive sit-down today.

His comment came in response to Meghan Markle's claim to Winfrey, 67, that she was subjected to racism from within the Firm.

William and wife Kate Middleton, 39, are said to be deeply upset by the interview, which has rocked the monarchy.

It is thought that the prince and his brother, now based in California, have not spoken for over a year - at least directly.

Harry, 36, hinted at tensions between the pair in the interview with Winfrey, saying the relationship was "space"

And William, when asked if he contacted the Duke of Sussex this morning, said: "No, I haven’t spoken to him yet...but I will do."

The future king and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, were making their first appearance since the interview at a school in London.

The couple were there to help promote a new mental health initiative in secondary schools.

It is understood the couple have decided there is no need to tailor their programme to avoid subjects uncomfortably close to home.

Meghan, 39, made several explosive allegations in the CBS chat, which was first aired at 1am on March 9 in the UK.

She accused Kate of making her cry - changing the narrative that it was the Duchess of Cambridge who had been upset.

That claim centres on dress fitting in 2018, in the run-up to the royal wedding.

Meghan also alleged that a senior royal asked what colour her unborn son would be, due to her heritage.

The Queen, 94, is expected to quiz William and other members of the family in the coming weeks about the claim.

Buckingham Police responded to the interview in a short statement earlier this week.

It said: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.

"Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."

Harry also claimed in the interview that his father Prince Charles, 72, had stopped taking his calls after 'Megxit' was announced.

But the Prince of Wales laughed off questions through at him following the interview during a public appearance earlier this week.
