Prince William and Harry can repair relationship - but won't be the same, survey finds

All eyes were on Prince William and Harry when they reunited for the unveiling of a statue of their mother, Princess Diana.

It was the first time they had been seen together publicly since their brief conversation after Prince Philip's funeral in April. Royal sources have confirmed their relationship remains "incredibly strained".

So we asked Mirror readers if they thought the pair could work through their rift - and the majority said yes.

However, of the 10,293 responses collected, 43% said they didn't think their relationship will ever be the same.

A further 23% said they think William and Harry can repair their relationship, while 29% said they don't think they can.

On Ingrid Seward's opinion piece ' Diana statue unveiling was 'perfect occasion to bring two warring princes together', one reader commented: " Harry looked uncomfortable that’s why he fiddled with his wedding ring and kept smiling and laughing. l did not see eye contact between the boys!"

Mk2 added: "They are truly handsome and their mum would be so proud of them. All families have spats and differences, blood is thicker than water.

"Many a man fell out with a brother because of a woman, politics, money any other of a thousand reasons.

"In times of need, we all head for 'our own'... something that the partner Harry chose doesn't seem to believe in as she has alienated herself from 'her own' - friends and family - and is attaching their family unit to celebrities..."

Meanwhile, one reader commenting on ' Harry and William's 10-minute chat before reunion - followed by one polite drink', said: "It looked like Harry went in to either shake William's hand or hug him and William turned his back on him. Good for him."
