Prince Street Bridge to shut to pedestrians and motorists as 'urgent repairs' get underway

Bristol's Prince Street Bridge is set to close this week to allow for urgent repairs to get underway.

Works are set to take place on Wednesday (April 27) and Thursday (April 28) with a diversion in place for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

The bridge, which straddles the docks near the Arnolfini, will be shut to pedestrians and cyclists from 10am to 4pm each day, and from 8am on Wednesday to 4pm on Thursday to motorists.

Bristol's Mayor Marvin Rees announced the news on Twitter. He said: "Urgent repairs to #Bristol's Prince Street Bridge will take place on Wednesday and Thursday – diversions via Redcliffe Bridge.

"To limit disruption, it will close to pedestrians/cyclists from 10am to 4pm each day and to motor vehicles from 8am on 27 April to 4pm on 28 April."
