Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid jokingly revealed the cutting remark Prince Philip made to her when she met him.
Susanna and the panel were reflecting on the Duke of Edinburgh's life following his death on Friday.
The Duke died on Friday morning aged 99 at Windsor Castle with the Queen by his side.
Today the ITV show spoke about the Duke's legacy including the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Susanna said she had met the Duke at a ceremony for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and revealed the "direct" way he had spoken to her.
Susanna said: "He said to me, 'did you do one of these?' and I said I did, but I failed to finish.
"And he said 'what on earth is wrong with you?'"
The panel erupted into laughter and Susanna said: "And then he moved onto the next person.

"The whole point of the Duke of Edinburgh award is that you really try and put everything into it.
"What on earth was wrong with me that I couldn't finish?"
