The Prince of Wales is to visit Japan for the enthronement of the new Emperor Naruhito.

The heir to the throne will represent the Queen at the request of the British Government at the ceremony in October.

Charles will also undertake an official visit to Japan following the enthronement ceremony and undertake a series of engagements in Tokoyo.

The two-day visit, starting on October 22, will celebrate British-Japanese connections.
