Prince Louis to attend first royal engagement next week

Prince Louis is expected to attend his first official royal engagement on Saturday.

The one-year-old will join mum Kate Middleton, dad Prince William, Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, four, and other senior royals at Trooping the Colour on June 8.

The annual event is held on the Queen's official birthday and has been a tradition of British infantry regiments since the 17th century, reports the Mirror Online.

The youngest of the Cambridge children, he turned one in April, will ride in a carriage at the military display.

Louis recently appeared in adorable pictures to mark the Duchess of Cambridge's garden at the Chelsea Flower Show but Saturday will mark his first proper engagement.

According to the Mirror, Meghan Markle will also be attending the event - her first formal appearance since giving birth to baby Archie on May 6.

Meghan will appear at the royal engagement just 31 days after giving birth to baby Archie.

Last year Kate attended the event on The Mall in London when her third child Louis was just seven weeks old.
