The Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated Prince Louis’s eighth birthday by sharing a new photograph of their youngest son, taken during a family holiday to Cornwall.
A grinning Louis leans with folded arms against a metal barrier, the sea as a backdrop.
Known for his cheeky nature, William and Kate’s youngest wears a blue textured quarter-zip jumper.
Kensington Palace’s social media post read: "Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!" with a red balloon emoji.
Matt Porteous, a photographer often chosen by the Wales family, took the picture earlier this month.
Louis, who is known for his cheeky antics on the Palace balcony, is fourth in line to the throne.

He was born on St George’s Day, April 23, in 2018, at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, weighing 8lb 7oz.
William and Kate and their children spent Easter together, and Louis was last seen at church with the rest of the royal family on Easter Sunday.
Sea-faring runs in the family. Louis’s great-grandfather Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh, was known for his Naval service, and became Admiral of the Fleet.
Louis’s grandfather the King also served in the Navy as the Prince of Wales, commanding HMS Bronington, and Louis’s namesake – Earl Mountbatten – became the First Sea Lord.
