Prince Harry welcomed to Los Angeles with funny 'Keep Calm' graffiti portrait

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made Los Angeles their hometown for the foreseeable future and local graffiti artist Keith Biele decided to welcome them with some street art.

Biele, who debuted his portrait of Harry to the public earlier this month, painted the Duke of Sussex with his hands in the pockets of a blue hoodie that features a crown and the statement, “Keep Calm and Wash Hands.”

Alongside Harry, Biele painted a blue French bulldog to his left and an orange pitbull on the right.

The 51-year-old artist told PEOPLE he was inspired to make the piece of street art after President Donald Trump’s tweet about Harry and Meghan's security costs. “It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada" Trump tweeted, "Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”

In an interview with PEOPLE Biele explained that he thought it was funny that the President would welcome the royal couple into America by announcing they would have to pay their own way.

Biele told the magazine that he “wanted to try to find a way to use this image and welcome them [and] at the same time to make a comment and a little public service announcement to everybody.”

The graffiti artist also was inspired by the motivational posters the UK government made during World War II that read “Keep Calm and Carry On” and wanted to make a play on that with his welcome gift graffiti.

“I wanted to use their saying and put ‘Wash Your Hands’ in there to update it with what’s going on with the COVID-19,” Biele explained to PEOPLE.

If you’re in Los Angeles and practicing social distancing, you can drive or walk by the portrait to get an in-person sighting yourself. It’s located in the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Beachwood Drive in the Los Feliz neighborhood.
