Prince Harry takes new job at Silicon Valley startup where he hopes to 'impact on people's lives'

Prince Harry has landed himself a new job as chief impact officer at a Silicon Valley startup.

The company that Harry will be working with focuses on coaching people on their mental health to help people's performance.

BetterUp offers custom support and services that "strengthen mental fitness", with the aim of allowing customers to "unleash personal and professional performance".

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have started a new life in LA and have various different independent ventures on the go since stepping back from the royal family last year, writes The Mirror.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Harry explained why he took the job. He said: “I intend to help create impact in people’s lives.

“Proactive coaching provides endless possibilities for personal development, increased awareness, and an all-round better life.”

Mental health is something Harry is extremely passionate about, and he's spoken honestly about his personal experiences and struggles.

More recently, Meghan also revealed she had suicidal thoughts during her time in the royal family.

BetterUp's website states: "Since 2013 we have been pioneering growth for the whole person. We believe that well-being and peak performance go hand in hand. And that through custom support and strengthening mental fitness, you unleash personal and professional potential.

"The BetterUp experience brings together world-class coaching, AI technology, and behavioral science experts to deliver change at scale — improving individual resilience, adaptability, and effectiveness. The results? Helping people live more meaningful, vibrant lives."

As well as working with individuals, the company works with whole businesses to help their employees.

Harry's name and photo has been added to the organisation's leadership team section of the website.

It states: " Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex is a humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist.

"As co-founder of Archewell, he is focused on driving systemic change across all communities through non-profit work as well as creative activations.

"The mission across Archewell—which currently includes Archewell Foundation, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Audio—is united behind the deeply held belief that compassion is the defining cultural force of the 21st century.

"Prince Harry has dedicated his life’s work to advancing causes that he is passionate about.

"He is the Founder of The Invictus Games, a platform for wounded, injured and sick service personnel to use sport as part of their rehabilitation, as well as Travalyst, a non-profit entity comprised of several of the largest online travel agencies in the world.

"Additionally, he co-founded Sentebale with his dear friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, in memory of their mothers’ charitable work in combating the HIV crisis, and serves as President of African Parks, a non-governmental organization focused on protecting Africa’s ecosystems in partnership with local communities and governments."

The new appointment comes over a difficult few weeks for the royal family after Harry and Meghan's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The couple made several claims about The Firm and there have since been "unproductive" phone calls between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.
