Prince Harry stuns Londoners by turning up at wrong house while looking for friend

Prince Harry - (PA Wire)

Prince Harry left London residents stunned after he was caught on a doorbell camera knocking on the wrong doors while reportedly “looking for a friend”.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, was seen tieless in a blue suit with a phone pressed to his ear as he approached homes on a quiet residential street. He is understood to have tried at least three properties before finding the right one.

One resident said their housekeeper answered the door but did not recognise him.

“We were shocked to see it was him on the camera,” they told The Sun. “We only really noticed once neighbours started talking — and then we were like, ‘Oh yes!’”

Another added: “Two of the houses he knocked at are at completely opposite ends of the road, which is about half a mile long. It’s a bit odd he didn’t seem to have a clue which house he was aiming for. I don’t think many people would just walk down a road knocking on doors, let alone if you don’t feel safe.”

The surprise visit came during Harry’s recent trip to the UK, where he had been in court claiming it was unsafe for him to return without police protection.

A doorbell snap showed the royal out in the open, and reports suggest he also stayed at a friend’s luxury home where, in breach of standard security protocols, he had a Deliveroo delivered straight to the front door.

The incident follows a revealing BBC interview in which the Duke spoke candidly about his fractured relationship with his family.

He said: “I have no idea how much longer my father has — he is no longer speaking to me — but it would be nice to reconcile.”

Harry also claimed he had “forgiven” the Royal Family, though he has faced criticism for not offering an apology himself.

Following his court defeat over security, which he called a “surprise”, the Duke said it was now “impossible” to bring his family to the UK.

Earlier this week, Harry flew to Las Vegas to attend the Diana Awards, missing his son Archie’s sixth birthday, which was celebrated at home in Montecito with Meghan Markle.

The Diana Award — founded in memory of Princess Diana — is supported by both Prince William and Prince Harry.

At the event, Harry appeared alongside Dr Tessy Ojo CBE, CEO of The Diana Award, who chaired a discussion at the Executive Circle at Knowledge 2025, hosted by ServiceNow, an AI platform for business transformation.
