Prince Harry should have prepared Meghan better for royal life, expert claims

Prince Harry did not prepare Meghan Markle better for royal life, an expert has claimed.

Robert Jobson, who has written books including Prince Philip's Century, has decided that the Duke of Sussex is primarily to blame for the nature of the royal rift.

He has accused the 36-year-old of not properly explaining the trials and tribulations of being a royal to Meghan, while also charging Harry with being "not the sharpest guy".

Discussing Megxit, Jobson told Page Six : “It’s a combination of Harry and Meghan’s fault, mainly Harry for not explaining it to her properly.”

He went on to suggest that it is hard work being a royal and possibly Meghan didn't fancy the struggle.

"People think it’s not but it is, It’s not glamorous and maybe she didn’t fancy that after at all," he added.

Jobson, who has also written about Princess Diana's protection detail, did not absolve the Duchess of Sussex of all blame, suggesting she should have done her "own homework" before signing up.

During their interview with Oprah Winfrey Meghan suggested that she had done no such thing prior to their first date.

"I never looked up my husband online," she said.

"I just didn't feel the need to because everything that I needed to know, he was sharing with me — or everything we thought I needed to know, he was telling me."

The scathing royal quill went on to accuse Meghan of having no excuse when it came to not understanding the ins and outs of palace life, as she had been assigned Samantha Cohen, a member of the Queen’s personal team, to help her learn the ropes.

“When she saw that she had the little house and William and Kate were the number one couple she probably didn’t understand that and thought, ‘Well we can do better than this and start commercialising the royal family,’ well frankly that’s not acceptable,” Jobson said.

Despite the authors bitter recriminations, Meghan and Harry have done just that.

They now live in a Montecito mansion that cost a reported £10.5million and have landed a huge deal with Netflix and Spotify.
