Prince Harry sends special thank you to Dumbarton FC after they gifted him club scarf

Prince Harry sent a special thank you to a Scottish football club after they sent him one of their team's scarves.

Dumbarton FC revealed they posted the Duke of Sussex the club-themed tartan garment earlier this year.

The League One side's kind gesture was to honour the 35-year-old, who also holds the title of the .

And they couldn't believe it when Harry, who recently quit life as a senior royal, replied with a letter this week thanking them for the gift.

Sons chairman John Steele said: "We were surprised and delighted to receive the letter.

"The scarves have been enormously popular since they went on sale late last year, and this just shows how popular they can be!"

It comes after thousands of Record readers called for  Prince Harry and his wife  Meghan to be stripped of their royal Dumbarton titles.

We polled our Facebook followers last month and asked 'should  Harry and Meghan still be Earl and Countess of  Dumbarton if they leave the UK?'

Thousands responded saying they should no longer hold the titles.

Harry and  Meghan announced plans to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family, base themselves in 'Canada' and work to become financially independent in January.
