Prince Harry says Diana predicted Royal Family exit and left him money to escape

Prince Harry has revealed he believes Princess Diana predicted his departure from the Royal Family as she left him money to fund his way out.

The Duke of Sussex made the admission as he opened up to Oprah Winfrey about his decision to step down from his public duties with wife Meghan Markle.

He said he was able to leave the family and move to the US due to the inheritance his late mother left him as the rest of his family cut him off financially, The Mirror reports.

"I think she saw it coming," he explained to the chat show host during the two-hour, which aired at 9pm.

Harry said financial support from the royals came to an end when he and Meghan moved to the United States last year.

"I have what my mum left me and without that we wouldn’t have been able to do this," he said of his relocation to Los Angeles.

"It’s like she saw it coming and she’s been with us through this whole process," he added.

It has been reported that Princess Diana left Harry and William £6.5million when she died in 1997 with the money invested so that Harry received roughly £10million when he turned 30.

Diana also left her sons a number of personal items including designer dresses and jewellery she had worn and items from the family's Kensington Palace home.

Speaking about his later mother in his interview with Winfrey, Harry acknowledged he had followed in his mother's foosteps by quitting 'The Firm'.

Harry said he acted to protect his and wife Meghan Markle's mental health as well as their son Archie.

He denied reports that he had 'blindsided' the Queen with the move saying that he has 'too much respect' for his grandmother to do so.

The Duke said there were ongoing conversations between the Queen and Prince Charles before an announcement was made - until his father 'stopped' taking his calls.

Harry spoke of the disappointment he felt at Charles' handling of the situation saying he went through a similar experience with his mother.

Meghan also said she felt like Diana at times, claiming she was silenced and restricted as a member of the institution until she left and found her voice.
