Prince Harry sang Shaggy’s ‘It Wasn’t Me’ when he met the singer in Jamaica

In royal news you never knew you needed, Prince Harry is reportedly a fan of Shaggy - or, more specifically, a fan of the Jamaican singer’s 2000 hit, ‘It Wasn’t Me.’

The unexpected story came out during an interview with The Observer, when Shaggy recalled meeting Harry in 2012.

They met when Harry visited the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica, which Shaggy has supported and donated to since 2001.

“My daughter thought he was supposed to be a prince on a horse, like in her storybook,” the 51-year-old said of his daughter’s expectations of Prince Harry. “He turned to me and said, ‘Wow, she’s just so not impressed,’ and then he sang, ‘It Wasn’t Me.’”

But Harry isn’t the only member of the Royal Family familiar with Shaggy’s work - at least, according to the singer.

“I’d like to think that the Queen is a big Shaggy fan,” he told The Observer. “I played at her 92nd birthday party at the Royal Albert Hall. Afterwards, I was standing right beside her,” he said of his interaction with the Queen.

“It would have been crazy if she was like, ‘Hello, Mr. Boombastic,’ he added of another nickname from one of his songs.

While this interview has honestly left us with a few questions, we have one primary concern: Mr. Boombastic, is there any footage of Prince Harry singing ‘It Wasn’t Me?’
