Princess Diana's brother did not attend baby Archie's christening because of a long running family feud, according to reports.
Prince Harry's uncle Charles Spencer was absent from the ceremony which saw the eight-week-old baby brought into the Christian church.
The 55-year-old earl was conspicuously absent from photos taken after the miniature royal was annoited.
Instead he was speaking at the Winchester Festival about his new book To Catch A King: Charles II’s Great Escape.
"It was no surprise that the Earl was not at the christening as he and Harry have been distant for a long time now," a source told The Sun.
"The falling out goes back years and it is hard to see them ever making amends.
"Harry has always been closer to his aunties and he is not a big fan of Charles or his wife."
The bad blood between the earl and the royals began in 1993 when Diana and Charles split.
He famously condemned the royal family at Diana's funeral and criticised the removal of Diana's HRH status by saying she "needed no royal title to generate her particular brand of magic".
However, he supported Harry and brother William following Diana's death in a car crash in Paris in 1997 and promised to protect and guide the siblings during the memorial.
Rumours that long running tension between them had lifted were put to bed in May last year when Charles and his third wife Karen Gordon were placed at the back of St George's Chapel for Harry and Meghan's wedding.
While the earl doesn't appear to be on good terms with his youngest nephew, Harry did invite Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes to the event.
They were photographed stood behind Meghan.
