Prince Harry's memoir 'set for Christmas release after getting legal sign-off'

Prince Harry's memoir is written and a finished manuscript has been signed off by lawyers, ready for the US Christmas market, it is reported.

Ghostwriter JR Moehringer finished the manuscript earlier in the summer and his publishers are trying to get it released for the Thanksgiving and Christmas period, it is understood.

Prince Harry has said his autobiography will be 'heartfelt and intimate' and reports say he has been researching the life of his late mum, Princess Diana.

But insiders reportedly fear he could blast step mum Camilla and it is feared there could be new rifts with the royal family.

A publishing source told The Sun: "The manuscript has been finished and gone through all of the legal processes.

"It’s done and out of Harry’s hands.

"The publishing date has been pushed back once but it is on track for the end of the year."

The Duke of Sussex has been working on the memoir since 2020 with the help of ghostwriter JR Moehringer – a Pulitzer Prize-winning author.

The as-yet-untitled book, which could open new riffs just as Harry appeared to be repairing several family relationships after he and Meghan Markle quit royal duties and moved to America in 2020, had initially been pencilled in for an autumn 2022 release date by publisher Random House.

Harry, 37, has yet to shed much light on the contents of his memoir, although he did consult the Queen about the project before going public with an announcement last summer.

“I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become," he said of the upcoming book.

Harry criticised his childhood and upbringing in an interview with the Armchair Expert podcast last year, while his interview alongside wife Meghan Markle with Oprah Winfrey also put a strain on several royal relationships.
