Prince William may be left furious if Prince Harry pushes ahead with plans for a documentary about their late mother, Princess Diana.
According to The Sun, insiders believe Netflix would jump at the chance to work with Harry on such a project. “If Harry wants to do it, then Netflix will bite his hand off,” an industry source told the paper.
But not everyone thinks it would be a wise move. Brand and culture expert Nick Ede told Express that the idea could cause deep tensions between the brothers. “Harry and his brother made a pact to keep her (Princess Diana) memory sacred and to preserve it in the best possible way, so William may see this as a betrayal and a way of cashing in on the anniversary,” he explained.

The rift between William and Harry has been one of the most painful family sagas of recent years. Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020, moving to the United States with their young son, Archie. The couple later went public with claims that the Royal Family had shown racial bias towards their son, a revelation that sent shockwaves through the monarchy.
Since settling in California, Harry and Meghan have welcomed their daughter, Lilibet, and built a new life away from the royal fold. The move, however, has done little to ease the strain with the rest of the family. A potential Diana documentary may only widen the gap further, with William said to be protective of their mother’s legacy and wary of anything that might be seen as exploiting her memory.
The brothers have often spoken about how Diana’s death in 1997 shaped their lives and their commitment to honour her work. They appeared together in 2021 to unveil a statue in her memory, but their relationship has remained frosty ever since.
If Harry does go ahead with the project, it could be one of the most significant flashpoints yet in his already fractured bond with William. For William, who has kept a more traditional role as heir to the throne, the move might feel like crossing a line they both promised never to breach.
The question now is whether Harry will follow through, knowing the potential fallout, or whether the risk of deepening the divide with his brother will hold him back. Either way, the possibility of such a documentary has already reignited speculation about the state of their relationship and whether it can ever truly be repaired.
