Despite their completely unique situation, Princess Diana did everything she could to make her family's day-to-day life as normal as possible.

The family's personal chef has given a sweet insight into what Diana was like as a mum behind closed doors.
Carolyn Robb, who was hired by Charles and Diana in 1989, told the Sunday Times the young Prince Harry loved treacle tarts.
She used to make 50p-size versions of the yummy treat which she kept in the freezer as a special treat.
But one day cheeky Harry snuck into the kitchen before breakfast and asked if he could have one.
Carolyn told him he would have to check with his mum, so he ran off to find her.
Moments later her returned with a handwritten note from Diana, which read: "Mummy says it's okay!"
She recognised the handwriting straight away, and realising Harry had managed to charm his mum handed one over.

Carolyn was the first female chef Charles hired and said during the interview Diana "came into the kitchen, kicked off her shoes and there was lots of laughing and joking, which was very typical of her".
She stayed with Charles after the couple separated, describing it as a "tricky time".
She said: "I wanted to do whatever I could to contribute small comfort. Just to be there in the kitchen when the boys would come in and out.
"We'd chat, have fun, and I would make special treats for them."
