(Picture: Getty Images)Prince Harry’s first boss outside the royal family and the Army today praised his new employee’s “natural chemistry” with him, as the sixth in line to the throne prepared to start his new “day job” in California.
Harry has been appointed “chief impact officer” at life coaching app BetterUp, which sells therapy sessions and mental health services for major companies to help improve the wellness of staff.
Co-founder and chief executive Alexi Robichaux told Sky News today: “We were just so impressed, and really I think there was such a natural chemistry and synergy around the insights and the contributions he can make creatively to BetterUp in ensuring that we achieve our mission.”
He added: “As we crafted the role together, we came to the title ‘chief impact officer’, really denoting that he’s focused on our mission and ensuring that we’re doing everything we can to achieve it on a bigger and grander scale to impact the lives of more people.”
Harry will be based at the firm’s San Francisco office when Covid-19 restrictions allow.
He will not be in a management role but will be expected to appear at special company events.
Mr Robichaux declined to say how much the duke will be paid, although similar roles at other California firms would command a six or even seven-figure salary and shares packages.
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales will hail the “strong and vital” ties between the UK and Greece during an official two-day visit to Athens.
