Prince Harry mocked for being ‘under Meghan’s thumb’ in cheeky Christmas panto dig

Prince Harry has been mocked for being ‘under Meghan Markle ’s thumb’ in a cheeky Christmas pantomime joke.

Just days before the couple release their explosive Netflix series they found themselves the butt of a joke during a performance of Cinderella at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre.

In a scene where Prince Charming’s loyal servant Dandini is helping him to find the mystery girl with the glass slipper by pretending to be the prince, he tells the audience: “This is so exciting! I’ll be like Prince Harry… Coming Meghan!”

He then runs off stage as if being summoned.

The Mirror understands that the joke, which brought the house down, was added at the last minute in rehearsals.

One member of the audience said: “It’s no surprise that a pantomime about a prince finding his one true love has a joke at Harry and Meghan’s expense, especially with the Netflix series about to launch, but it was just a a bit of lighthearted fun.”

Royal biographer Hugo Vickers has claimed in the past that the fallout between Harry and Wills may never heal because ‘Harry is so under the thumb of Meghan’.

He claimed: “Harry is so under the thumb of Meghan it is not really possible until he emerges from that.”

Mr Vickers, who has penned a number of books about the royals, said that Harry had “thrown in his lot with his wife” and noted that “slagging off his family” was unhelpful.

The Mirror revealed how the Royal Family have been warned to brace themselves for their worst nightmare as Harry and Meghan’s bombshell Netflix documentary series airs tomorrow.

William and Kate are set for crisis palace talks with King Charles after flying back in to the UK from their US Earthshot visit.

One source in contact with a Netflix production insider said: “I genuinely think it’s going to be worse than the royals can imagine.

“I’m told that it’s going to be utterly explosive and will be very damaging.”

Harry and Meghan weren’t the only royals to be made fun of during the show.

Prince Andrew was also a target for 'gorgeous' Ugly Sisters Claudia and Tess who joked that they wouldn’t be waiting for Prince Charming because “there’s another prince waiting at Woking Pizza Express!”

The Ugly Sisters also had a dig at This Morning's Holly and Phil (Supplied)

And even This Morning’s Holly and Phil weren’t off-limits with the sisters telling the audience at Prince Charming’s ball: “Let’s go to the buffet. I’ve had a look and there’s a very long queue. I bet Phil and Holly have pushed right to the front!”

The panto, which runs until December 31, stars TV comedian and EastEnders star Brian Conley as Buttons.

The hilarious actor, known for his ‘It’s a puppet!” catchphrase, brought the house down with his stellar performance along with the fantastic supporting cast.
