Prince Harry 'made slip of the tongue' over therapy experience, TV host claims

Prince Harry appeared to make a "slip of the tongue" when he claimed Meghan Markle pushed him to have therapy, a TV host has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex recently appeared on podcast Armchair Expert in the US, saying that he sought professional help due to his struggles as a working royal and that it was Meghan who encouraged him to do so.

But in the couple's much-publicised TV interview with Oprah back in March, Meghan herself claimed she was refused help.

Speaking to Oprah she said: “I went to the institution and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help.

“I said, ‘I’ve never felt this way before and I need to go somewhere’. And I was told that I couldn't, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution."

Commenting on the contradiction between the two statements, Australian host Andrew Bolt speaking on Sky News Australia said it was odd Harry could seek help, but Meghan could not.

He asked: "Didn't she say in her notorious interview with Oprah Winfrey that when she wanted to go see a therapist herself Buckingham Palace refused her permission?

" Prince Harry, the actual prince could get therapy but his wife could not?"

Royal commentator Daisy Cousens seemed to agree with his assertion, adding: "It is pretty extraordinary, I didn't actually pick that up until you mentioned it.

"That is very well-spotted because there is a giant disconnect there between the two stories. Quite a slip of the tongue from Harry.

"The whole big point they made in the interview was that the Palace would not let Meghan get any therapy because they thought it would look bad.

"I am sorry, but if this is true why would Prince Harry be allowed to get therapy?"

During the same interview Prince Harry criticised America's First Amendment calling it "bonkers" and admitted that he doesn't understand it, sparking a backlash.
