Prince Harry looked 'tense and frosty' next to Kate weeks after her row with Meghan

A body language expert has claimed that Prince Harry looked "frosty" and "ill-at-ease" as he stood alongside Kate Middleton just weeks after her row with Meghan Markle.

Judi James re-analysed old footage of the royals after Oprah's bombshell interview revealed the story behind the confrontation between Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge.

In the interview, Meghan claimed that Kate had made her cry during a stressful flower girl dress fitting before her wedding with Prince Harry in May 2018.

She said Kate had apologised and sent her flowers, although previous coverage had claimed that Kate was the one left in tears, reports the Daily Star.

Three weeks after the Sussex wedding, Meghan and Harry made their first Buckingham Palace balcony appearance as a married couple for the Queen's official birthday.

Body language Judi James says there were visible signs of tension between Prince Harry and his sister-in-law.

She told the Daily Star : "If you compare historic footage or shots of Kate and Harry on the balcony where they have looked animated, friendly and as though they are having fun, his behaviour here looks completely different, suggesting tension.

"Kate comes out and chats happily with Camilla while Harry and Meghan walk out to stand behind her.

"There is no attempt by Harry in these shots to chat or joke with his sister-in-law or to join her as he has in previous years and his frowning facial expression looks dour and ill-at-ease.

"When Kate looks back to the front she sucks her lips in, which is often seen as a gesture of regret. Harry seems to mirror this by using a wiping hand gesture of his mouth."

The expert added that the Duke of Sussex looked "frosty" and only smiled when he talked to Meghan.

"We can see two more moments of Kate turning her head to communicate with Meghan," Judi explained.

"Her expression is hidden but there seems to be no animated or friendly responses here, particularly from a frosty-faced Harry.

"Harry does smile in these clips but only when he talks to his wife."
