The Duke of Sussex has launched a campaign encouraging people to appreciate the natural beauty of trees.

On Monday, Prince Harry will edit National Geographic‘s Instagram account as part of the initiative, posting snaps of trees from renowned photographers with a focus on indigenous species.

The campaign is titled “Looking Up”, the idea being that people should “look up and share the beauty of trees” together.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace explained that the campaign was inspired by the 35-year-old royal’s dedication to environmentalism.

“Together with National Geographic, the Duke of Sussex launches a call to action and social media campaign, ‘Looking Up’; raising awareness of the vital role trees play in the earth’s eco-system by sharing your own photos of trees from around the world,” it reads.

Prince Harry will also share a photograph taken in Liwonde National Park, Malawi, where is will visit today to unveil two new Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy (QCC) initiatives.

The QCC, launched in 2015, is a network of forest conservation initiatives involving all 53 countries in the Commonwealth. Countries were invited to plant trees or submit national parks and forests to preserve in the Queen’s name.

Prince Harry has launched 15 of the QCC projects to date in various places around the world, including the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand.

Following the trip to Malawi, Harry will rejoin his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, and their son Archie in Johannesburg for the final part of their 10-day tour in South Africa.
