Prince Harry laughs with athletes at launch of UK's Invictus Games 2020 team

Prince Harry laughed and joked with athletes at the launch of the UK's team for the Invictus Games in 2020.

The Duke of Sussex is visiting the Honourable Artillery Company in central London as part of his role of Invictus Games Foundation patron.

A group of 65 sportsmen and women have been selected for the Paralympics-style event and will compete in the Netherlands next year.

Prince Harry looked in good spirits as he met the team and posed for the first official team photograph.

He will then spend time meeting competitors and finding out more about their recovery journey and the impact the Games are having on their lives, as well as those of their family and friends.

On Friday, Harry made a surprise appearance at Windsor Castle as he dropped wife Meghan off to work in their brand new £70,000 electric Audi.

It was the couple's first joint engagement since a controversial television documentary, in which they admitted they were struggling with their royal roles.

The Invictus Games is an international sport event for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women, both serving and veteran.

The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect of all those who serve their country.

The UK is one of 19 nations who will be taking part in the fifth Invictus Games from 9-16th May in The Hague, The Netherlands. Over 500 competitors will compete in 10 adaptive sports.

Earlier this week it was announced Prince Harry will attend England's Rugby World Cup final against South Africa on Saturday.

It is currently unknown whether Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, will join him.
