Prince Harry lands in Canada to start his new life away from the Royal Family

Prince Harry has been photographed landing in Canada to begin his new life after stepping down from royal life.

The Duke of Sussex revealed on Monday that he and wife Meghan Markle felt they had "no other option" but to stand down from their royal duties.

He said he and Meghan had hoped to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth and his military associations, without any public funding, but this was not possible.

In his first public speech since the couple's decision to step down as senior royals, Harry said he wanted his family to have a "more peaceful" life.

The couple released a bombshell statement announcing their intentions earlier this month and the Duchess of Sussex returned to Canada to be with their baby son Archie.

The prince, 35, had remained in the UK to carry out his remaining royal duties as well as attend a crisis summit at Sandringham with the Queen and Princes Charles and William to discuss his future.

After their fates were decided, Harry said: "Once Meghan and I were married, we were excited, we were hopeful, and we were here to serve.

"For those reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this.

"The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly.

"It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges.

"And I know I haven't always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.

"What I want to make clear is we're not walking away, and we certainly aren't walking away from you.

"Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding.

"Unfortunately, that wasn't possible."

On Monday the Prince raced through an engagement with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and African leaders before boarding a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Vancouver.

After BA85 touched down following a nine hour 17 minute flight, Harry connected onto Westjet  3185 for the 11 minute journey from the mainland onto Vancouver Island.

Pictures showed him leaving the plane with other members of the public before he was reportedly picked up by an SUV.
