Prince Harry has 'suffered a lot' and 'wants a normal life', says friend Nacho Figueras

Prince Harry's old friend Nacho Figueras has said the Duke of Sussex has "suffered a lot" and made the move to Canada to "protect" his wife Meghan and baby son Archie .

Speaking in a clip for tonight's ABC special, Royal Divide: Harry, Meghan, and The Crown, which was shared by Good Morning America, Figueras revealed he had talked to Harry a few days before the interview was filmed.

"I spoke to Harry a few days ago," he said, "He has suffered a lot from all of the things that have happened to him. He wants to live a normal life, as normal as his life is going to be right? Because when you have a thousand paparazzi outside your house in Canada waiting to get a picture of your son that's not very normal."

He also hinted that the treatment of Harry's mother had played a role in his move .

"He's protecting his family, he's protecting his wife and his child - he was a son of someone that has suffered the attack from the press firsthand, and it's undeniable, and he doesn't want for that to happen to his family."

Argentinean polo player Figueras, who has known Prince Harry for years and even introduced him to Ellen DeGeneres, previously spoke out about watching his friend deal with intense media pressure.

“I’ve seen it all happen, right from the very beginning,” Figueras said in an interview last year on The Ellen DeGeneres show.

He also said Markle was an “incredible girl” who “gave up all of the things that she had to marry the man that she loves.”
