Prince Harry faces 'humiliating' uniform snub at Charles' Coronation - but William won't

Prince Harry could be set for another uniform humiliation as he faces not being allowed to wear military garb at the King’s Coronation next week.

The Duke of Sussex earlier confirmed he will be attending the May 6 festivities, with wife Meghan staying behind in California.

Last year he was left heartbroken when he was forced to have the ER symbol removed from his military uniform when he stood vigil at the Queen’s funeral, alongside William and cousins Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.

And next weekend the war veteran could face the same fate.

Military Historian Dr Peter Johnston told True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat that Harry probably won’t be donning a military uniform.

Instead, he may have his own tribute to his royal father by wearing his medals, the Express reported.

Dr Johnson said: “I imagine Harry won't wear uniform [at the coronation].

"Even as a veteran who did two tours in Afghanistan, he won't wear uniform.

"I imagine he'll wear his medals but quite where he fits within the procession and where he comes, I think will be probably reasonably similar to where he was at the funeral as well.

“He'll be a part of it, but not necessarily, a [leading] part of it.”

It was previously reported the Coronation is set to be a “humiliating” and “painful” event in which Harry will be treated like a “pariah”, royal experts have warned.

Without the support of his spouse, Harry risks being left “exposed” to hostile family members one author claimed.

Royal author Tessa Dunlop told OK! magazine she had studied footage of Harry helping Meghan into the car when he came out of St. George’s Chapel following the Queen’s funeral.

"He just wasn’t a man who was comfortable in his skin. And this time he’s coming over without the support of Meghan.”

Clearly, he does lean on her very heavily. And he’s coming alone. That means he’s exposed, effectively. He will be made to sit [farther from the royals] at best. So, he will have that feeling of demotion.”

Meanwhile, Harry will not be the only outcast at the Coronation, the king’s disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, stripped of his titles after being accused of raping 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre, which he denies, will also be in attendance.

However, even Andrew “will be afforded better treatment [than Harry] and shown more respect by the Crown,” claimed Another royal author, Christopher Andersen.
