Prince Harry cancels Amsterdam trip sparking speculation Meghan will give birth imminently

Prince Harry has cancelled his trip to Amsterdam next week - sparking rumours that Meghan Markle is expected to give birth imminently.

The Duke of Sussex was due to travel to Amsterdam on May 8, but now he is only planning to travel to The Hague for one day on May 9 to launch the Invictus Games.

Meghan is expected to give birth any day now, with the shortened trip giving Harry more time to be with Meghan and possibly their new arrival.

A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: "Due to the logistical planning for the travelling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex’s scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019.

"The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned."

Speculation has been rife that Meghan has already given birth - but yesterday the Palace categorically denied this was the case.

Harry and Meghan are expected to be very private about the new child - with Meghan already saying she will not stand on the maternity wing steps as Kate Middleton did with her three children.

The first glimpse of the baby is expected to be via the couple's Instagram account @SussexRoyal.

The child will be seventh in line of succession and is not expected to have a HRH title.
