Prince Harry and the heroes: Team for Invictus Games unveiled

The Duke of Sussex cracked a joke today as he unveiled the team of 65 injured and wounded military veterans and service personnel who will compete in next year’s Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

Pointing at his wrist watch, Prince Harry apologised for being late and blamed the traffic as he arrived for the launch at the Honourable Artillery Company in Clerkenwell.

The team will be led by its first female captain, RAF veteran Rachel Williamson, who was medically discharged last year after losing movement in her right arm following a rugby injury.

The team will compete in the Paralympics-style event in The Hague next May in nine sports.

Harry launched the first games in London in 2014. Last year they were in Sydney.
