Prince Harry and Meghan reminded of 'sh**' William and Kate put up with by furious friend

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been slammed by a furious pal of Prince William after their statement on their "near catastrophic" car chase.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and her mum Doria Ragland were involved in a car chase with paparazzi in New York on Tuesday evening last week. The Sussexes released a statement about the two-hour car chase via their spokesperson but their report has since been met with scepticism.

A source close to the royal family has come forward and said that, while everyone understands Harry's anger, the Prince and Princess of Wales have experienced incidents like this before. The friend told the Daily Beast: "William and Catherine have put up with s**t like this in the past.

"Everyone understands his anger at the photographers, but making hysterical statements doesn’t help matters, especially when, as the Queen might have said, recollections may vary.”

A friend of King Charles has given an insight into what the monarch thinks about his son's statement. The King's friend said: "Charles will completely understand Harry being upset at being pursued by the paparazzi. He knows how scary it can be.

"But he has always tried to get Harry to understand that complaining about photographers or the media is pointless. It just makes it all worse."

CNN reported that royal security detail Chris Sanchez said Harry and Meghan were followed from the event by a slew vehicles. Sanchez said he’d “never seen [or] experienced anything like this,” and that “the public were in jeopardy at several points".

However, a spokesman for the NYPD downplayed the severity of the incident in their statement: “The NYPD assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.”
