Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'will join Queen at Jubilee event' despite balcony snub

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly expected to join the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family at a service at St Paul's Cathedral next Friday for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.

Royals are set to gather en-masse for the event, which forms part of the celebrations, and Harry and Meghan have confirmed they will be travelling to the UK for the four-day bank holiday weekend.

The service will come 24 hours after the Trooping the Colour event, which will see working royals only appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony, meaning there will be no place for the Sussexes, who now live in California.

According to the Telegraph, as well as Harry and Meghan being expected to attend the service at St Paul's, Prince Andrew is also expected to be among those attending.

This means that all of the Queen's children and grandchildren could be at the event - and some of her great-grandchildren may also reportedly attend.

Among the youngest royals that could be there are Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Mia Tindall although Harry and Meghan's two children three-year-old Archie and Lilibet, who is almost one, are unlikely to be there, given their young ages.

It will be the first time since their wedding that the Sussexes will be surrounded by so many members of the Royal Family.

Over the course of the Jubilee weekend, the Queen is expected to appear at Trooping the Colour on the Thursday, a church service at St Paul's Cathedral on the Friday and at the Epsom Derby on the Saturday.

However, decisions on her appearances across the weekend are not likely to be confirmed until the day.

A Palace spokesman said: “The Queen is looking forward to the weekend and will be taking part in the celebrations but her presence will not be confirmed until much nearer the time or even on the day itself.

"As you might expect, some adjustments have been made for the Queen’s comfort.

“There will be no ceremonial journey to St Paul’s and Her Majesty is expected to arrive at a different entrance than on previous occasions.”

Last month, Harry and Meghan confirmed they would be attending the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations with Archie and Lilibet.

A spokesperson for the couple said the couple are "excited" and "honoured" to attend the celebrations despite it being announced that there would be no place for them on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Trooping the Colour event.

It will be the first time Harry and Meghan have brought their family to the UK since leaving for the US.

Lili’s first birthday falls during the Jubilee weekend on June 4 and she is yet to meet the Queen, Prince Charles and other members of the family.

The Queen has said she's “looking forward” to the weekend of celebrations - with much speculation previously over who would appear on the balcony after Trooping the Colour next Thursday.

A Palace spokesman said: “After careful consideration, the Queen has decided this year’s traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday, June 2 will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen.”

Joining the Queen on the balcony for Trooping will be Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra, and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.
