Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they are expecting their second child on Sunday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the announcement on Valentines' Day.
The new baby will be a brother or sister for their 21-month-old son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
A spokesperson for the couple said: "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."
The message was shared alongside a black and white photo of Harry and Meghan, who wed in May 2018, sat under a tree.
Harry, 36, is seen resting his hand on Meghan's, 39, head as she lay in his lap cradling her blossoming bump.
The photograph was taken by photographer Misan Harrison, who is also a friend of the couple.
But followers of the couple have spotted something familiar about the photo and compared it to a scene in a famous nineties movie.

Fans of Notting Hill have said the posed-for shot echoes the pose done by Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant in the final scene of the hit film.
"My 1st reaction when i saw the announcement pic was.... I'm sure i've seen that scene before or 1 very similiar? Notting Hill anyone," wrote one in response to the annoucement.
Another said: "I'm getting 'Notting Hill' vibes."
"Thought it was a picture of the end of Nottinghill the film," a third added.
A fourth joked: "Somebody has seen Notting Hill far too many times."
The chosen date of the pregnancy announcement is also believed to be a nod to Harry's late mum, Princess Diana.
It was 37 years ago on Sunday that the Princess of Wales announced she was pregnant with Prince Harry.
The news also comes after the duchess suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in the summer of 2020.
Meghan revealed her miscarriage in November last year in a deeply personal article for the New York Times.
The due date for the new addition is not yet known.
