Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview Ofcom complaints reach over 5k

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’ s interview with Oprah Winfrey has received 5,380 complaints.

The interview aired on ITV on March 8 received the extra 207 complaints over the last week.

It received a higher number of complaints than the likes of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Sky News and Good Morning Britain over the last month.

The tell-all interview detailed the couple’s new life in the United States all while giving everyone a glimpse into the reality of joining the Royal family.

Among many bombshells dropped, Meghan and Harry claimed they were married three days before their glamorous Royal wedding.

In the Oprah interview, Meghan said: "You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that."

They have since done a U-turn on the claims after the real marriage certificate emerged showing they tied the knot on May 19 when the rest of the world was watching on TV.

During their conversation with Oprah, the couple also claimed that an unnamed member of the Royal family made a comment about ‘how dark’ their son Archie’s skin would turn out to be.

They also announced they would be welcoming a baby girl into their family.

The interview caused a huge rift between Piers Morgan and Alex Beresford on Good Morning Britain that it ended up with Piers quitting.

Piers even said he didn’t believe that Meghan struggled with her mental health, which resulted in 57,121 Ofcom complaints.

The presenter dramatically quit Good Morning Britain and refused to apologise for any of the comments he made.

He even stood by his beliefs after the Duchess of Sussex lodged a complaint against him.

His opinion also courted controversy with members of the public but many have been petitioning for the star to return to his post on Good Morning Britain.
