Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have Diana ‘high up on list’ of baby names

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have Diana ‘high up on the list’ of names for their baby girl, according to a royal insider.

Royal author Katie Nicholl said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are expecting a little girl in June, have "probably got a very good idea" of what they are going to call their second child.

She added that Diana, after Harry's late mother Princess Diana, is likely to be picked as a middle name, as the Express reports.

Ms Nicholl told Entertainment Weekly: "What we know about this couple is that they do put a lot of time and thought into names.

"I'm sure they have probably got a very good idea of what they're going to call their little girl.

"I think many people are expecting that Diana is going to be one of her names.

"I absolutely think they will want to include Diana as perhaps one of the names for their little girl.

"Maybe not as her first name, but I'm sure it's very high up on the list in terms of a second Christian name.

"And I think that's quite simply because it would be for Harry a wonderful way to pay tribute to his mother."

The royal expert pointed out that Prince William and Kate gave their daughter Charlotte the moniker Diana as a middle name.

She continued: "I don't think that precludes Harry and Meghan from doing exactly the same thing.

"I think it's very likely to be chosen as a middle name."

The Sussexes revealed they were expecting a girl during their Oprah Winfrey interview.

Meghan told Winfrey the tot is due in the "summertime".

Asked if they were "done" with two children, Harry said "done", and Meghan added: "Two is it."

The couple are already parents to Archie, who turns two next month.

Meghan and Harry announced their baby news in February.

They shared a stunning black and white snap showing them posing under a tree, with Meghan's blooming baby bump on full display.

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said: "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."

The Sussexes are living in California after quitting royal duties last year.

They plunged the Royal Family into crisis with their bombshell TV interview, which aired last month.
