Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could bank £1bn from Davos forum

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could bank £1billion by playing a starring role at the World Economic Forum in Davos next year.

Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, are set to be invited as guest speakers at the annual gathering of some of the world’s richest and most influential people.

It comes amid what banking insiders describe as a “ gold rush ” to work with the couple.

But it could also clash with the Sussexes’ climate campaigning after activist Greta Thunberg, 17, slammed the WEF during her speech last month and angry protesters filled the streets.

Experts reckon by mixing with WEF delegates at Davos, Harry and Meghan could hit £1billion by striking the right mix of corporate deals and brand ambassador roles.

PR expert Mark Borkowski said of the move: “This does not surprise me at all.”

A banking source added: “ Harry and Meghan have set a clear path to work with big banks and corporate giants as well as doing altruistic work with charities.

“The mix works well with the target audience and the celebrity set. However, it is sure to raise eyebrows in royal circles.”

Harry and Meghan champion environmental causes but were criticised last year for flying off on holiday by private jet.

Harry’s father, the Prince of Wales, gave a keynote speech on the climate crisis at Davos, in Switzerland, this year and met Swedish activist Thunberg.

Sources said the Duke and Duchess could net hundreds of thousands per speech – but have not taken any cash for such work so far.
