Prince George 'to be kept out of limelight' following social media abuse, royal author claims

Prince George will ‘kept out of the limelight’ after being on the end of a torrent of social media abuse, a Royal Family author has claimed.

The seven-year-old was pictured watching England’s Euro 2020 final match with his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Video taken from the game showed the youngster celebrating a goal inside the VIP box at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The footage was widely circulated across social media, with a number of people mocking him for wearing a suit and a tie, reports the Daily Star.

Robert Jobson, who co-authored Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, said that he could be kept away from the public eye following the match.

He told the Sunrise TV show in Australia: “With George, he got quite a lot of social media attention.

"Some were critical about him wearing a shirt and tie like his dad which I thought was very harsh.

"He has been very popular but I think they are going to try and keep him out of the limelight a little bit.

"They are very conscious of that. The pictures were great with his dad when he was celebrating for that all too brief moment.”

Commenting on pictures of Prince George at the match that were uploaded on Twitter, one user said: "Hahahahahaahahahaha hope the little twerp cries into his tie.”

A second commented: "And this royal turnout is supposed to make Scotland want to stay in the union? Absolutely not."

"Why the sour faces is just a game," blasted a third.

"F*** the royal family," someone else said.

Another user said: "Someone needs to bully this kid. Just so he can grow up normal."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Kate Middleton and Prince William "disagreed" over George's outfit at the football match.
