Prince George to attend Eton College from September

Prince George will attend Eton College from September, the Royal Family has said.

Kensington Palace announced George would follow in the footsteps of his father, the Prince of Wales, by attending the school.

The 12-year-old, who made an appearance with his family at the Trooping the Colour ceremony at the weekend, will be a pupil at the school which educated William and his brother the Duke of Sussex.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “Kensington Palace can confirm that Prince George will attend Eton College from this September.”

The young prince is currently studying at Lambrook School, the private prep school in Berkshire, where he boards and it is also attended by his siblings Princess Charlotte, 11, and eight-year-old Prince Louis.

The royal family gathered on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch a spectacular Red Arrows flypast and greet well-wishers as the nation celebrated the King’s official birthday at the weekend.

The annual Trooping the Colour ceremony drew thousands of spectators to The Mall as a day of pomp and pageantry brought together the country’s most famous military regiments to mark Charles’ anniversary.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were all smiles with their children as the flypast took place following the parade.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, appeared visibly excited, chatting with their parents, William and Kate, throughout the display.

After the flypast, members of the royal family waved to wellwishers from the Buckingham Palace balcony and were met with loud cheers.

However, chants of “not my King” could be heard during the flypast as protesters from campaign group Republic gathered in the crowds.
