Prince George Princess Charlotte and other great-grandchildren attend Prince Philip's memorial

Children of the Royal family made a surprise public appearance at Prince Philip's memorial service, today on March 29.

A number of senior royals were in attendance to pay tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Joining them, were their children - Future King Prince George and his younger sister Princess Charlotte.

George, eight, and Charlotte, six, were not previously announced on the royal guest list, as they made the surprise appearance at Westminster Abbey. It is thought that their little brother Prince Louis, three, was too young to attend the service.

The young Prince was dressed in a navy suit, with light shirt and dark spotted tie. He was immaculately dressed as he held on to his dad's hand.

Charlotte wore a long, dark buttoned up coat, with black tights and ballet pumps. She held onto Kate's hand as she entered the memorial service.

Other children to attend the service included Isla Phillips and Savannah Phillips - the queen's eldest great-grandchildren and the daughters of Princess Anne's son Peter and his ex-wife Autumn Phillips. They were accompanied by their father as they each held one of his hands.

Queen Elizabeth's first granddaughter Zara Tindall also arrived with her daughter Mia Grace Tindall and partner Mike Tindall. Mum and daughter wore matching dark blue headbands.

Other members of the British royal family to show their support for the Queen included Prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex along with their teenage children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.

Her Majesty was the last of the royal party to arrive. She used a walking stick and held onto the arm of her son, Prince Andrew, as she made her way to her seat.
