An adorable picture of Prince William as a child shows just how much his son George has taken off him as the eight-year-old royal is the spitting image of the future king in a shot of him dressed as a captain.
An image of the Duke of Cambridge, 39, captures him grinning while dressed as a police cop during a childhood visit to a police station.
The second-in-line to the throne looks thrilled as he holds up a phone to his right ear and pretends to be a serving cop.
His picture, which must be about 30 years old, is identical to one of his son George who beams as he's shows off a captain hat during The King's Cup Regatt.
Prince George is the eldest of William and wife Kate Middleton's three kids, with Prince Charlotte, six, being their second child and Louis, 3, their third.

Different images of William and George show how the eight-year-old has throughout the years been put in identical outfits to ones worn by his dad at similar ages.
The similar fashion choices are also evident in how George tends to match his dad's clothes when out and about.

At Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May 2018 for example, George's outfit was a scaled-down copy of his dad William's frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals.
While Prince George's white shirt and bright red shorts, black leather buckle shoes and white socks for his sister Charlotte's christening is an obvious nod to the choice of clothes for William when he first met his brother at St Mary's Hospital.
Yet it's not just their fashion choices that the royal father and son have in common, but their posture and expressions too.

In one picture, for example, William can be seen yawning away during a VE Commemoration in Hyde Park when he was just a boy.
In the same way, Prince George is pictured rubbing his sleepy eyes as he arrives jet-lagged in Berlin for a three-day visit to Germany.
Another moment capturing the synchrony between William and his much-loved son was during a flypast ceremony for the Queen's birthday.

Here, both William and George appear mesmerised as they look up to the skies during the annual Trooping the Colour event.
It is not the first time the striking resemblance between William and George makes headlines.
The Mirror previously reported how royal fans were amazed at how some pictures showed an uncanny similarity between the future kings.
