Prince George bakes Christmas puddings with the Queen in special royal family photo

The Queen and three future Kings have joined together to bake one of the nation's favourite festive treats in adorable pictures released by Buckingham Palace.

The festive photos feature the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George cooking up their very own Christmas puddings.

Young George can be seen getting stuck into the baking, stirring fruit mix into a large bowl with a wooden spoon.

The pictures mark the third occasion the Queen has posed for a photo with all three generations of future kings - first pictured together for Prince George's christening in October 2013 and for the Queen's 90th birthday in April 2016.

In one of the pictures, his father William, grandfather, Charles and great grandmother, the Queen, stand behind George smiling and laughing.

In another, the table is filled with four bowls, with all of the generations getting involved with seasonal baking.

The pictures also provide a glimpse of the Queen's Christmas tree in the palace's Music Room, which features a number of regal decorations including a crown, corgi, a throne, and soldier.

The puddings were all baked as part of the Royal British Legion's 'Together at Christmas' initiative and will become the centrepieces of next year's  of 99 distributed among projects in 2020, marking the charity's 99th year.

The initiative is designed to provide extra support to the Armed Forces and veteran communities at annual festive 'get togethers' across the charity's network of outreach centres.

The Queen has been patron of the Royal British Legion since 1952.

Footage from the cooking session will be shown in the Queen's Christmas Broadcast on Christmas Day.

Absent from the baking fun was Kate Middleton, who showed off culinary skills with cooking queen Mary Berry in A Berry Royal Christmas, which aired on Monday night.

In the show, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that Prince George's first words were Mary Berry.

The royal tot learned to speak thanks to spotting the Queen of Puds’ name and face on his mum’s bookshelf.
