Prince Charles tests positive for Covid-19 for second time in two years

Prince Charles has Covid-19 for the second time in two years and after a positive test.

Clarence House revealed in a tweet that the Prince received his result for coronavirus this morning and has now gone into self-isolation.

And they added that it meant he would have to cancel two engagements he had planned for Winchester today.

Their statement said: "This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.

"HRH is deeply disappointed not to be able to attend today's events in Winchester and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible."

Prince Charles attended a black-tie evening with his wife Camilla at the British Museum last night to speak in front of the British Asian Trust.

For the bash, with the Duchess of Cornwall, he spoke to 350 guests, including Chancellor Rishi Sunak, Home Secretary Priti Patel and Health Secretary Sajid Javid.

Prince Charles received his first positive Covid test in March 2020 when the pandemic was still in its infancy.

He experienced mild symptoms and went into self-isolation at his Birkhall home in Balmoral estate.

He said of his diagnosis afterwards: "I was lucky in my case... but I've had it, and I can so understand what other people have gone through."
