Prince Charles was in high spirits at the Great Yorkshire show
(Picture: PA)The Prince of Wales accidentally stepped in cow pat when he enjoyed the afternoon with Camilla at the Great Yorkshire Show.
Judge Anne Tully, from Brixham, Devon told him: “I told him that was luck, that’s what we always say.”
They joined thousands of visitors at the agricultural show in Harrogate, North Yorkshire on Thursday after it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
Prince Charles looked smart in a two-piece suit when he inspected South Devon cattle and sheep.
He is patron of the show, a key event in the farming calendar.
Throughout the day, he visited farming experts and their livestock as well as some of the 2,000 stalls.
The prince then came face to face with champion 1,550kg Hereford bull Moralee One Rebel Kicks, owned by Tom and Di Harrison from Stocksfield, Northumberland.
Mr Harrison said afterwards: “I could have talked to him for an hour.
“He is very knowledgeable and I would have liked to have bought him a pint.”
During his visit to the country’s biggest agricultural event, the prince was also given a booming hello from father-of-six, Red Lee Smith, a gypsy from Dublin.
Mr Smith is currently staying in Doncaster and told Charles he was visiting the show with his family.
