Prince Charles shares sweet family photo from his childhood 70 years ago

Prince Charles has shared a sweet throwback snap from 70 years ago.

It shows him with the Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Anne enjoying the warm weather on a hot summer's day in Clarence House garden.

The black and white family photograph was posted on Clarence House's Instagram account.

It attracted more than 25,000 likes and several hundred comments from royal fans across the world who regularly follow the social media accounts if the royal family.

In the picture, the young Queen wearing a flowing dress and lapel collar is seen sitting on a picnic blanket with her hands clasped in front of her.

Her well-dressed husband Prince Philip looks smart in a suit and joins her cross-legged in the image.

The royal couple are focused on their children, as Princess Anne reaches out to touch the flowers on the bushes in the picturesque surroundings.

Prince Charles, meanwhile, leans on his left hand as he looks at his parents.

The caption shared urges Prince Charles and Camilla's 1.5million Instagram followers to have a look around Clarence House by clicking a link and using @googleartsculture to have a peek inside the official London residence of Prince Charles.

Royal fans swamped the comments section of the social media site to praise the photograph, with while many left tributes to Prince Philip.

In one post, Royal fan said: "What a beautiful picture@ and a second commented: "So heartwarming photo. I love your family to bits."

Others added: "Wonderful photo" while a fourth poster said: 'The Queen is gorgeous.'

In another comment tributes were left to Prince Philp with one simply saying: "RIP Prince Philip."

Prince Philip's death certificate revealed the Duke of Edinburgh died "peacefully" aged 99 on April 9, Buckingham Palace announced at the time.

The Queen turned 95 just 12 days after he died and released a message thanking well-wishers for their tribute to Philip on her birthday.

His death devastated royal fans around the globe and prompted a period of national mourning.

She then said it was a "period of great sadness" but she said she was comforted by words of praise for the duke.

The Queen added: "We have been deeply touched and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life."
