Prince Charles 'enormously touched' by well-wishers after coronavirus diagnosis

Prince Charles is "enormously touched" by the messages he has received from the public after it was revealed he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Clarence House, where the heir to the British throne lives, posted from its official Twitter account: "Thank you for all your ‘Get Well Soon’ messages for His Royal Highness.

"He is enormously touched by your kind words."

Prince Charles, 71, revealed on Wednesday that he had coronavirus.

A Clarence House spokesman said: “He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual."

The prince had been in contact with hundreds of members of the public over the previous month.

He began March with a meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson at Clarence House.

Charles also met world champion boxer Anthony Joshua at a service for Commonwealth Day.

But Mr Joshua said on Thursday that he was "fit and healthy".
