Prince Charles, Camilla and Prince William travel to Balmoral, amid doctors concern for Queen's health

Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Prince William are all said to have travelled to Balmoral Castle, Aberdeenshire, after it was revealed that Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision due to doctors' concerns for her health.

The 96-year-old Monarch pulled out of a virtual Privy Council yesterday (September 7), a day after appointing Liz Truss as PM at her home in the Scottish Highlands.

A Palace spokesperson said: “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

The PA News Agency reports that the Queen’s close family including the Prince of Wales have been informed, with the latest announcement escalating fears for the monarch’s health.

Prime Minister Liz Truss, said: "The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime," adding: "My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time”.

Commons Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, also told MPs: “I know I speak on behalf of the entire House when I say that we send our best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen and that she and the royal family are in our thoughts and prayers at this moment.”

It has now also been revealed that The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have travelled to Balmoral, according to Clarence House, with The Duke of Cambridge said to also be travelling confirmed Kensington Palace.

The Princess Royal is at Balmoral, and the Duke of York and the Earl and Countess of Wessex are on their way to the Queen’s Scottish home, sources said. The Duchess of Cambridge has remained in Windsor as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are on their first full day at their new school, Kensington Palace said.

A spokesperson for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also confirmed that the two will be travelling to Scotland. They were initially to travel to London to attend the WellChild Awards ceremony tonight, but have since changed their plans to be with Elizabeth II.

The nation’s longest-reigning monarch has ongoing mobility issues and looked bright but frail and used a walking stick during Tuesday’s historic audience with Ms Truss, which followed a visit from outgoing prime minister Boris Johnson as he tendered his resignation.
