Prince Charles and Camilla have been spotted leaving Aberdeen airport as they prepare to ring in the New Year in Scotland.
It is thought that the pair will be spending the end of 2021 at Birkhall, their private estate on Balmoral.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall flew into Scotland via private jet from RAF Marham in Norfolk, which is near the Queen's Sandringham home, the Daily Mail reports.
Charles, 73, is known as the Duke of Rothesay while he is in Scotland and was spotted driving himself and was wearing his signature tweed suit and tie.
His wife Camilla, 74, was wrapped up warm for the Scottish winter as she wore a coat and sat in the passenger seat, with an aid joining the couple in the back of the car.
Their planned Scottish break followed quiet Christmas celebrations which the Queen was forced to tone down due to rising levels of Covid-19.
Usually, the Royal Family hold a grand Christmas at Sandringham but this year she was only joined by Charles, Camilla, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex for a muted affair in Berkshire.
The family suffered a rare crime scare after spending the festive period at Windsor Castle.
