Prince Charles and Camilla fans react to 'unusual' Christmas card choice

Prince Charles and Camilla fans have reacted to their official Christmas card for 2021.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall released their festive photograph of choice on their social media platforms over the weekend, but the snap caused quite a stir.

"As the countdown to Christmas begins, today we're sharing this year's official Christmas card from The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall," Clarence Hall wrote on Instagram.

The caption was accompanied by a picture of Prince Charles adjusting Camilla's face mask at the Royal Ascot.

Many praised the sweet moment and its nod to the challenges of the last year, but others thought it was an unusual choice, reports Birmingham Live.

"That's your best photo of the year??" quizzed one fan. "Slightly bizarre you would choose that as a Christmas photo seen by the world?"

While another added: "How is it appropriate to show someone sticking their dirty hands into the front of someone else's mask? Surely this is irresponsible whilst in a pandemic?"

And a third wrote: "A bit of a weird choice for a Christmas card!"

Others disagreed, however, with one pointing out: "Yes, it's a very weird, unprecedented and unusual choice for Christmas card. But, why not? After all we're living in a very weird time and place right now, aren't we? This photograph speaks for itself.

"It shows the funny, loving, caring, and human sides of them. It reflects what has been going on this year. It perhaps represents the acts of kindness we all have seen through this recent difficulties. We can all relate to this."

A second commented: "Well, if this doesn't represent this past year, I don't know what does! Happy Christmas!"
