Prime time TV comeback for Jeremy Kyle

Jeremy Kyle set for a prime time TV comeback for the first time since a guest's death.

ITV immediately pulled his daytime show off air and it was subsequently cancelled in May following the sudden death of Jeremy Kyle Show guest Steve Dymond.

Steve had appeared on the show 10 days before he died.

According to the Mirror, he is reportedly being lined up to host a new show in early 2020.

There's even the chance he could be on our screens in the evening instead of the morning.

A source told  The Sun: “Jeremy is a huge ratings draw and he has a great relationship with ITV, who are very keen to bring him back.

“So it was only a matter of time. An ITV team have been told ‘find a format for Jeremy’ and that is what they are working hard to do."

The source added: “It is a given that ITV bosses will learn from the findings of the committee.

"But they have always said that they want to work with Jeremy again, and now those plans seem to be taking shape.”

However The Jeremy Kyle Show will definitely not be back after the death of Steve Dymond.

Talking after the tragedy, Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, said: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.

“Everyone at ITV's thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.”
